a lull in festivites and activiaties

I know i just started this blog and your thinking wow your taking a break already lol
its just of coarse that the bank book rules the projects..... i have some stuff to work on and need some stuff to complete it hence the lull and rent is due!!  very important

so this week i just layed about w my teenager who is on punishment so is stuck at home with me the most boring place in the world (her words)


I should take this time and make my list of projects i want to complete yes I'm a list person i find that when things are listed even if its in my head there is no better satisfaction then being able to cross it off (even in my head lol) but right now I'm all about prepping for my NEW YEARS DAY BRUNCH my first ever


I am usually a go out and party NEW YEARS EVE type of woman (i was gonna say girl but i hate hate hate when women call themselves girls) and this will be my first year ever not partying on NYE (oops i lie for my daughters first nye i stayed home w her her daddy's idea but my sisters stopped by and we partied it up before she headed to the club awwwww good times good times lol) anyway back to the new plan


I am hosting a NEW YEARS DAY BRUNCH for my cousins and sisters and families we'll have about 6 under 6 running around here and about 12 adults omg who's idea was this???? oh yeah mine


2012 Project List
complete coffee table
get & reupholster a chair for living room
complete headboard bench
folding doors (do something to them)
picture ledges for the living room (fingers crossed trying to get this one done before new year)
get or create a tufted headboard
side tables & lamps for my bedroom

decorating has become my passion lately my way of coping with the burdens of life and  as i sit on my sofa with coco at my feet here is the view i see

yes coffee table still not complete but, there always tomorrow

 im so happly content with myself and i just wish i could freeze time to this moment when im perfectly calm and happy and my monster is in the shower and we arent fighting at this moment im praying evey day for God's help and patience for me for her for both of us......

look around inspiration is everywhere....

So this morning im on pininterest and i pin the cute bench that took me to a blog on making a bench out of a headboard

and then i go out to walk my coco

and  i decide to take a new route

and go over into our neighboring town cause its across the street from me and there in front of me is ........

yes ammmmmmmazing it will turn into an awesome bench
but this project will have to wait as i still need a footboard and some 2x4's but i know it will be (oh yeah i said it already but im really hooked on that word) ammmmmmmazing

and the best thing it was freee yes free cha ching lol

I'm really amazed at how the universe works, and am so happy i took a new route and found some inspiration...and my new project

present day....flash forward

so i was going to try and keep this blog in order and i was going back to the begining
but today has been such and awesome day of GOODWILL HUNTING.... that i must just flash forward to today and MY christmas decorating




sneak peak: this should be completed tomorrow!! i hope....

now back to today's adventure well first i emptied out a closet of the candle holders i had on hand i was going for anthing crystal, silver, gold and white to go with my christmas decor see my tree below

yes apparently i have a bit of a candle habit i have finally weened myself off partylite parties...

and here's what i found on my trip..... GOODWILL HUNTING
 the whole stash was $10 bucks yep you read that right!!!

and now i place them on the silver tray which was also a  GOODWILL HUNTING find this weeked for 7.99 yep awesome....



the tray will also serve as a way to move this awesome creation
off the coffee table when the babies come ova caz this is not rugrat friendly!! lol

and now for the grand finally here is what it is looking like now lit and shining
im still playing with the layout of each peace
but i was dying to see it lit and so (think drum roll....)

movin is hard work

huge thanks to my 3 sisters without them the moved would neva have happened.

i would probably still be living out of boxes if not for them

as it stands there are still 2 boxes left (after 3 months) which i beleive is pretty good they are filled with frames that im getting around to hangin

slowly but surely the boxes went away

the start

So i lived in my last apt for 10 yrs and this year in Sept i finally moved both out of the town i grew up in and the apt i lived in for so long.  i didn't even realize what a rut i was in but i do realize that this move has gotten my juices following like they haven't in years...
There have been many changes in my life in the last 3 months on top of moving I've also come out of a 6 yr relationship and am raising a teenager now alone (need I say what a trauma that is).  So with time and now space on my hands I now make this apt our home...

Needless to say times are tuff, livin ain't easy and doing it alone takes either lots of money or a creative mind, I'm short on the $$ but luckily abundant on the creative side or so i think anyway ...
